My name is Marie Breton, and I am a certified professional groomer. As a groomer, your pet’s health and wellbeing are very important to me, and I want grooming to be a positive experience for everyone. Though I might seem young, I have years of grooming and animal handling experience, and will work with rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs, as well dogs and cats! I also work in the hospital as one of our vet tech assistants, and this experience allows me to knowledgably groom some animals that may seem difficult, as well as special medical cases. My previous background in work with zoo animals has given me some great insight into the behavioral cues of animals. Taking animals out of their normal environment can cause anxiety and stress. Observing this and reacting appropriately can alleviate this.

For new pets, I prefer to have a “meet and greet” so we can get to know each other! This helps them get to know me on non-grooming terms, with no clippers or scissors. They get petted, get a treat and get to know me as a friend first, instead of just as a groomer.  For some animals, grooming works best in sessions, either getting groomed slowly throughout the day or starting with just a bath or a trim before a full groom. This is done with the best interest of your pet at heart. I groom on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and currently one Saturday a month. Grooming is done by appointment only, and drop off times may vary. Please confirm this when you schedule an appointment.
