DR. RITA DEMEUSE, DVM
I am Dr. Rita Demeuse, a 1993 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary School. After graduation though 2001, I practiced in Salisbury, North Carolina, concentrating mostly in surgery, diagnostics and emergency medicine. Being a true Maine native, I felt compelled to return to Maine in November of 2001, where I have practiced in the Greater Portland and Scarborough area ever since. As a veterinarian, I have a special interest in diagnostics and general medicine, including diet and nutrition. Animals are my hobby and my passion. Your pets mean as much to me as my own, and that is why I am available to you 24/7, either at the office at (207) 839-7456 7 days a week, or you can page me after hours at (207) 741-6544. DR. KELLY HILL
Dr. Hill specializes in avian and exotic pet medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has over 10 years of veterinary experience. She is also a member and supporter of the Above and Beyond Great Dane Rescue. She works full-time emergency but continues to see patients here on a part-time basis. She has been with Tender Touch since its beginning and is still a valued member of our staff.

JESSICA CARRO, HEAD TECHNICIAN/DENTAL TECHNICIAN
Jess is our head tech here at Tender Touch,
and has been working in the veterinary field for
over 9 years. She has formerly worked in
Emergency medicine, and is experienced in
surgical prep, emergency assessment
and surgical assisting. 

 

CAREY HAARS, TECHNICIAN
Carey is currently in school to become a nurse. She is experienced in dental radiography, cleanings and geriatric dental care. Carey is here on an on-call basis.

 

MARIE BRETON, TECH ASSISTANT/GROOMER
Marie is our technician assistant. She helps with restraint, medication administration and pre and post operative care. She has a wonderful touch with the animals, and her medical experience translated well
into her grooming, allowing her to work with animals
that have special needs and requirements.

HEIDI FAVREAU, OFFICE MANAGER
We welcome Heidi as our new Office Manager. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 7 years and we appreciate her vast experience. She is married with furry children and loves race car driving as a hobby.

 

LAUREN HILLIER, RECEPTIONIST/TECH IN TRAINING
She began her career with animals in 2001. She started at the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk. 5 years later, she began work in the veterinary field. She is enrolled in a program through Penn Foster to be a vet technician. She has lots of experience fostering newborn kittens, and loves working with cats with attitude! Living in Standish, she enjoys gardening.

CHRISTINA MICHAUD
Christina has been working in the veterinary
industry for over ten years, and has held a
variety of positions in the field. She has been
working with Dr. Rita for over 4 years now, and is
very knowledgeable in the areas of pet nutrition
and supplements, as well as shampoos and
products.

MELANIE HALLSWORTH, KENNEL
WORKER & RECEPTIONIST
Melanie LOVES dogs. She is our full-time kennel person, and no one could do a better job. All day long she rotates dogs to our cubicle enclosures, so they get good exercise. She plays with them as if they were her own. We know this makes them very happy to come back!

JUSTIN RENNA, KENNEL ATTENDANT
Justin has been giving us a helping hand in the kennels from the very beginning. Justin is still attending high school and his passion is to work with the dogs here at Tender Touch.
