Dr. Rita Demeuse, DVM

I am Dr. Rita Demeuse, a 1993 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary School. After graduation though 2001, I practiced in Salisbury, North Carolina, concentrating mostly in surgery, diagnostics and emergency medicine. Being a true Maine native, I felt compelled to return to Maine in November of 2001, where I have practiced in the Greater Portland and Scarborough area ever since. As a veterinarian, I have a special interest in diagnostics and general medicine, including diet and nutrition. Animals are my hobby and my passion. Your pets mean as much to me as my own, and that is why I am available to you 24/7, either at the office at (207) 839-7456 7 days a week, or you can page me after hours at (207) 641-7000.

Dr. Kelly Hill, DVM

Dr. Hill joined Tender Touch after 15 years in Emergency medicine. She graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary College in 1997, followed by emergency/critical care and surgical internships. Kelly and her husband Matt have 3 beautiful daughters and a menagerie of animals, including birds. She is a volunteer with Above and Beyond Great Dane Rescue and has a special interest in exotic species care and surgery. Kelly has a great sense of humor and will always greet you with a smile and shake your hand. We are happy to welcome her back to Tender Touch.

Heidi Favreau

I started working in the veterinary field while I was still in high school, over 10 years ago. Most of my experience is hands on. I worked at another veterinary facility for 7 1/2 years before moving over to Tender Touch. I have now been an employee at Tender Touch since 9/09. I truly enjoy working with animals and I think that shows from my menagerie at home. I am married, have 3 cats and 4 dogs. I love to be with my friends and family. I also enjoy gardening and car racing.

Jess Czerw

I have worked in the veterinary field since 1999. I started out at a busy Emergency Hospital, and have been at Tender Touch since 2008. I obtained my dental certification in 2010. Although most days I can be found in the surgery suite or performing dental procedures, my favorite part of my job here is rescuing animals- improving lives. I am proud to be working alongside such genuinely caring, compassionate people. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my own house full of critters (and hubby), reading, beading and exploring. :)

Lauren Mitchell

My name is Lauren; I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I was born and raised in NJ and have been living in Maine for about 2 years. I graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at Bergen Community College in NJ in 2012, and have been working in the Veterinary field for about 9 years. In my free time I like to go to concerts, go camping and go to the beach. I live with my fiancé, our three doggies (Bandit, Charlie and Moon), our cat Snowy, our 5 chickens and pet duck. Caring for animals is my passion and I have been an animal lover since day one.

Renee Phillips

I graduated from Stratham NH Community Technical College (Now Great Bay Community College) and got my Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 2007. I have been working in the Veterinary field ever since and continuing to learn and grow every year. Working with animals has always been my passion since a child and I couldn't picture myself doing anything else. In 2013 I earned my Degree in Animal Behavior and have enjoyed working with the many dogs in need. I also work with several rescue groups fostering and helping to evaluate dogs for their new homes or with adjusting in their new homes after adoption. I officially earned my Degree in Grooming in 2014.

Logan Darling

I have been at Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital since August 2014. I started out working in the kennels and have gradually moved into the treatment area. I am currently in my second year at York County Community College in their Veterinary Technology program. I love working at this facility because of the animals and people I get to meet. In my free time I like to be around family and friends, hiking and playing sports.

Amber Davis

I am new to the Tender Touch Staff - started the end of July, 2012. I am at the front desk. I have 25+ years of experience in various administrative assistant settings. While this is my first position in a veterinary setting, it is something that I have always wanted to do, as I love being around animals, and have found a great home here.

I live with my husband of 18 years, Belle our 7 year old Black Lab (who thinks she is a person), Lily, our 2 year old Yellow Lab (who thinks she is a cat), Pandora our 16 year old Maine Coon Cat (who runs the show) and Humphrey our 8 year old black and white cat (who thinks he runs the show).

Shannon Mars

I began working at Tender Touch in June of 2012, while in high school. I truly enjoy coming to work and getting to meet our clients and their animals! I am fortunate to be in an environment that allows me to gain valuable knowledge and experience. Outside of work, I am currently studying biology at the University of Southern Maine, with aspirations to attend vet school once I have completed my bachelor’s degree. In my free time, I enjoy riding and competing my off the track thoroughbred in dressage, and exploring the outdoors with my dog.

Justin Renna

My name is Justin, I have been working for Tender Touch since we opened in January of 2008. I've been doing this since I was 15 and can't picture myself doing anything other than working with animals. I am currently the boarding manager, but I also work in reception, help out with appointments and some tech work, and take care of the gardening and lawns along with other various tasks around the hospital.
